Art-on a Box container for charity
The design by Raymond Cuipers was in line with the Port of Amsterdam campaign theme for 2010 aimed at highlighting its dynamic international environment: ‘Port of Amsterdam, where worlds meet’. The container shows people of various nationalities working in the port.
In addition to being painted, the container was also used during the Amsterdam event to collect sports clothing and items for the underprivileged and disabled in Morocco and Suriname. The collection was organised by the Karam Connect Foundation from Said Bensellam and supported by the Port of Amsterdam.
The Ter Haak Group participates in ART-on-a-BOX as the project typifies the mercantile spirit and creativity that is also a hallmark of the company. The art project started during SAIL 2005 and the last of the series of 12 containers will be painted during SAIL 2010, from 19 to 23 August, and have the theme ‘Amsterdam/Rotterdam’.
